it's that when he wrote it, it was meant as near future dystopia. And while he was off by about 10 years, he nailed it....where we are now. in so many fundamental ways. def read it, it's genius and also very funny.

I know DFW is problematic for a lot of you but for real Infinite Jest is now a documentary not a work of dystopian fiction.
