We expected 2,000 people out in GOP-held Greeley, Colorado.

11,000 people showed up.

Something special is happening, folks. Now is the time to organize in every dimension possible and get to work.

It’s a great point, and one Europe should try to capitalise on through a scheme to welcome people.

I think part of the problem is that many people, including the Democrats, didn’t defend that positions, they acquiesced. Same with DEI now, they should defend the position not go β€œoh well it has gone too far but some of it’s okay”, just make the case and defend it!

Why are women’s bodies disgusting and disrespectful?

Can’t emphasize this enough: if you’re feeling overwhelmed by the debased assault on our country, the antidote is connecting with other people in the flesh who are feeling the same way. There are millions of us.

imo the left really needs to put a lot more effort into organizing veterans, especially now. they aren’t a political monolith, and a lot of them are getting screwed over right now.

When we engaged with blockchain - we had an impact on the direction it took. If we fail to engage with blockchain or AI now, it will just become another hollowed out corporate tool of power - but it doesn’t have to be, it’s a battle to fight but half of us already threw in the towel. So frustrating!

Also the left hating AI is a lazy take. Of course critique things - a lot of blockchain innovation was driven by the critique of energy consumption, much more efficient chains are built now. Much to critique in AI too, but the idea that all of it is bad/useless is so insane - I see leftists say it!

When we live in a digital share cropping renter based economy. It’s time to take platforms and algorithms into decentralised, open source, collective ownership. Left tech but also specifically blockchain is part of the solution.

I’m begging ppl to rethink their lazy 2020 takes and be more creative + collaborative in their thinking - what *could* we build with the tech? What is being built that I could support bc it’s cool or helpful? How do we use all the tools at our disposable, inc blockchain, to build a better future?

I really think we were foolish to let it become a partisan issue that the right just owns and builds the future with. We should be building our own future. But without the backing of venture capital, projects need mass support and the left has been psyopd into hating any mention of blockchain.

13.03.2025 08:23 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Really think the left needs to care about blockchain. Having new financial tools, + the ability to create decentralized software is such wasted potential. We should be building a new cooperative high tech future with the latest tools, but some people are still blinded by culture war division.

Sure but violence to gain rights is quite different from β€œhang the traitors” imho. I’m making the point that retributive violence isn’t the same as violence in self defence (or the pursuit of rights).

Most of my political stance boils down to solar punk: an eternal pragmatic optimist working towards a utopian future with; more leisure time, lots of nature but also high tech in the right places. A practical socialist in the short term but fully automated luxury communism in the long term.

πŸ‘‹ new Bluesky leftie account here looking to grow a community. How do I do it?

A bit about me:
- tech/science nerd + developer with an interest in bleeding edge: quantum, blockchain +AI
- philosophy/politics PhD grad
- serial hobbyist, esp arts, crafts, different kinds of movement + being outdoors

I agree with using violence when violence threatens you. If someone is going to murder you, best to stop them before. That doesn’t really mean hanging people who I disagree with though. This kind of rhetoric normalises and justifies something that the right are much more likely and able to do to us

Our political system is broken, but that doesn’t mean we should jettison every liberal norm too. Eg I think public violence as a means of retribution is quite different from violence for self defence and the rejection of public violence, or violent β€œjustice”, in modernity is a good thing imho

Think we should hold an awareness too that the tools the left comes up with and justifies (cancel culture, deplatforming) eventually are used against us, and this feels like a dangerous step to me.

I’m all for stopping nazis taking over public spaces through force if necessary - and removing billionaires through taxation, but β€œtraitor” is such a nebulous term that really means anyone with dissenting views to your own, it feels like a much darker path…

The pro-Israel lobby really lay a lot of the groundwork for fascism. Having organisations in every community and at every level of society which seeks to target individuals who dissent, first with being cancelled/fired and now with deportation, and later with worse… has a lot to answer for imho

Hearing my dog soft bark in his sleep is just the most adorable thing. 🐢

It’s so beautiful that he’s dreaming a whole world up, probably with me in it, the way he’s sometimes in my dreams.

Thanks for the explanationπŸ™‡ I’m new here & trying to understand. I did look up did:plc & see it’s open source. Do you mean the id data itself is not portable? So you could export your data but have no way to provably link it to your old account? Is the solution Bluesky integrating other ID systems?

Yes! I’ve also always thought that the critique that a β€œcentral planned economy is inefficient” might not hold when considering AI. Haven’t seen anyone really explore that idea in any real depth but could be interesting!

Cats, mice, day in the life, sandwiches, seeing your kids, job satisfaction, house renos, the atmosphere, feelings… I really don’t care about any of this fluff puff piece.

Where is the discussion of *wealth* tax? It’s actually a joke.

Ridiculous to blame the β€œwelfare economy”.

08.03.2025 09:02 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

This point isn’t made anywhere near enough:

Our ability to recover Russian assets proves a wealth tax is possible when there is political will.

It’s obviously not the same thing, but the issue isn’t that there isn’t wealth, or that we don’t know where it is, or that we don’t know how to get it.
