If ICE has no vehicles to move about the city chasing toddlers, then they will be unable to fulfill their unlawful duties. So please protect ICE vehicles. No tire slashing, no sugar in gas tanks, no planted trackers, no glue in keyholes, etc. and definitely no creative new approaches to resistance.

I see someone slashed the tires and smashed the windows of an ICE vehicle. I denounce this shameful behavior. Just because the agents are distracted zip tying children does not mean you should sneak up and slash tires. You should definitely not conceal your face and move quickly away from the scene.

I get it. Death threats even in jest (and that’s an old joke told many times with different names involved) are bad. I would look at a number factors. Poverty, family dynamics, schooling, access to legitimate information, etc. No one is born lazy or apathetic. This coup has been 55 years in the making. The laziness? Underneath it is despair. It will take all we have to turn this. But that’s our only option.

Democrats still seem largely stuck on defensively rebutting MAGA lies, like Ds want undocumented people to access Medicaid. OK, but we need offense! Newsom, AOC, Bernie, Jasmine, Pritzker, et al, are ringing the alarm. Where are our congressional leaders? Busy fighting Mamdani, God help us.

I don’t disagree. The Mighty Wurlitzer propaganda machine has been at it for over half a century. Racism, superstition, and certainly tribalism all play a part. Our best hope to combat all this is education: schools, libraries, etc. They too have been badly battered, which has hastened collapse.
