Stumbled across the Church of St Mary's in Compton Dando yesterday. Beautiful church with a Norman tomb, the remains of a sundial and steps made out of a headstone. Highly recommended a visit!

A single Magpie is often seen as an omen of ill luck. However, in Shropshire, there are many rituals to counter this. One Victorian folk belief, states that when seeing a Magpie, one must spit on the ground and say

'Devil, Devil I defy thee-

To remove any bad luck.

Spent some time checking out the graves and memorial plaques on the floor of St Mary's Church, Thornbury today. Kinda fascinating the history of people from long ago, slowly being eroded away under our feet.

I stumbled across the story of the Mead Tea Gardens, a hidden gem in St. Catherine’s Valley near Bath. Opened in 1923 before closing in the 1980s. A fascinating piece of Bath’s history!
