There's a Short Treks episode which reveals the SNW Enterprise also contains the same Aperture-Labs-esque "turbospace" in which the turbolifts seem to operate on Disco, and I do not understand it at all.

It's a cute episode though: Number One and Spock get stuck in a turbolift on his first day!
