When it comes to rising electricity demand everyone talks about AI and data centres.
But their contribution to rising electricity demand is only 8% between 2025 and 2030.

The horizontal axis at the bottom is labeled βOutput tokensβ with tick marks at 0, 20,000, 60,000, and 100,000. Three line plots with circular markers show performance increasing as output tokens increase. A light-colored (white) line is labeled near its rightmost point βGPT-5.3-Codexβ. It starts just above 50% accuracy at low token counts, rises to around 55β56% by roughly 20,000 tokens, and reaches about 56β57% by around 40,000 tokens. A medium-blue line is labeled near the right side βGPT-5.2-Codexβ. It starts near 47β48% accuracy at low token counts, rises steadily through about 50β52% around 20,000 tokens, and reaches roughly 55β56% accuracy near 100,000 tokens. A darker blue line is labeled βGPT-5.2β. It starts lower, around 41β42% accuracy at low token counts, rises to about 50β51% around 20,000 tokens, and gradually increases to roughly 54β55% accuracy by around 100,000 tokens. An OpenAI logo appears in the upper right corner.
