I think they’d serve more as a “this is the kind of thing that can be done” rather than “here’s how it’s done” example. Plus all the world’s docs of course. Just knowing something is actually possible is an incredible motivator.

Presuming you are sending it back to be ripped apart & studied by the best scientific minds of the day, send several MBPs full of documentation, phones (which yeah there’s no network but the modem / touch screen / mems chips etc +bluetooth would blow scientists away) & of course a few smart watches.

I don’t agree with 100% of it but there’s meat on the bones of his argument worth chewing.

We are hiring plenty of junior and senior devs but very few mid level. Not entirely sure what happens to the juniors as they progress. Time will tell I guess.

My focus remains eliminating managers not devs.

I’ve been meaning to give it a go. Probably the most difficult book I’ve read would be Gravity’s Rainbow which was both hilarious and frustrating. Rewarding however once finished.

Some of us just read Ulysses for fun.
