Definitely not me as it'll carry no weight but I look forward to reading it. I've been using bun a little bit and trying to use it more. Loving it so far

24.02.2025 16:04 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0I've been playing with a few side projects since reading this.
Bun boots starts and seems to refresh way faster so I'm liking it. I'm testing simple cruds atm so haven't run into any blockers.
Gotta test vitest still. Ran into some weirdness but didn't have time to debug. Hopefully it's trivial.
Idk if it's helpful (and I'm not in front of a computer today), but there's a way to group config files in a pseudo folder so they're hidden.
It would definitely warrant a warning on you courses cause file structure would look different... Maybe it cleans up the visual clutter though?
I don't write go, is defer similar to await or does it queue the close for when resp is no longer used?
30.12.2024 13:22 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0@jamon.dev I remember you posting about how bun simplifies your dev experience.
Do you use bun when starting a new expo project or is it just for simple backends?
Have you attempted to use vitest w/ expo (and bun if you ever use it for frontend)?
I see ignite uses yarn/jest so I'm curious
I'm sitting here with a split keyboard wondering if I should add a second backspace button and you're chilling here with none!
24.12.2024 14:37 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Haha yup. I think I got mine in 2018 or 19. Idk if they all are, but I'm pretty sure paperwhite and above are ipx68
22.12.2024 05:32 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0It's definitely hard to justify upgrading. I got whichever Paperwhite is waterproof though, thats worth it imo
22.12.2024 02:47 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Do you have a "why to build compound components"?
I feel like I only ever see them with useContext, which is rarer and rarer these days.
Everything is a ui. Even the terminal. But yeah, I complain about em a lot.
Everyone just needs to make better UIs 🤷
... I might be slightly crotchety on this topic
Well done dude. I remember seeing you when you were just starting out and I tried to buy you a book but you wouldn't let me 😂. Glad you're still doing you
07.12.2024 02:03 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Oh nice. Didn't load for me but it's up now. Can't use my PC key for PS5 though lol. Looks like I'm stuck in PC 😭

If that doesn't work, I'd say go with @jakebailey.dev
In college I learned that there were a lot of Three Letter Acronyms in computer science. So to make it easier, we'd call them TLAs 🫠

This is pretty solid. I'm gonna have to look at the code but for an MVP/pre-design I'd definitely take it. Api -> ingestible data is usually the annoying boilerplate junk imo. Did it follow your typings/etc for the zod schema?
24.11.2024 18:48 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Been waiting for this. I hate that everything needs vscode. Been using intellij for years but am feeling out learning nvim.
22.11.2024 16:46 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0This is pretty solid. I always wondered if a comment system could be built on ActivityPub and have the comments cross posted. Idk enough about the differences of AP/atproto
22.11.2024 00:46 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Haven't watched this yet but I always assumed the tech side had a better ratio than the rest of twitter. Also assumed it was worse than 1/3 cause viral posts were chaos
19.11.2024 22:07 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0This is my nightmare.
Mostly(?) unrelated question, do you always test on physical devices or just for weird bugs? Our team is split on emulator vs physical but I don't really find a good reason for one vs the other
Other sites feel like they're used mainly to grow an audience whereas posts feel more authentic here. I don't think (hope) it's placebo
13.11.2024 14:03 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Might be time to be active on socials again. Actually seems like fun here...
Hey y'all!
