Nice to have a succinct list from the Republican Senator of all the useless protest methods.

I like to talk about cooking, Python, sci-fi and creating a nice world for everyone. (she/her)
Nice to have a succinct list from the Republican Senator of all the useless protest methods.
15.01.2026 15:55 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0My talk, "Who is Python for? EVERYONE (and why that matters)" from PyData Boston last month is up! www.youtube.com/watch?v=DPQg...
14.01.2026 23:31 β π 9 π 3 π¬ 0 π 0The home of Hannah Natanson, a Washington Post reporter, was searched by the FBI. Her devices were seized. I spoke to @columjournreview.bsky.social about the potential damage and what news organizations need to know. www.cjr.org/news/hannah-...

MA lags behind other blue states in the basics when it comes to limiting police collaboration with ICE. Far past time to correct that and catch up. actionnetwork.org/letters/ma-n...
09.01.2026 19:58 β π 42 π 12 π¬ 3 π 0See you all tomorrow morning! It's going to be a pretty nice temperature to leave your house and hang out with other Pythonistas tomorrow! #BostonCaveats
09.12.2025 14:01 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Thank you to everyone who's donated to the PSF this year!!

13.11.2025 23:00 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Thanks, @redmonk.com! Our Executive Director @eximious.bsky.social had a great time meeting with @kateholterhoff.com and chatting about computing trends.
10.11.2025 19:27 β π 11 π 2 π¬ 0 π 0Talk with your colleagues about safety protocols. When is it okay to share each other's contact information? If you're in the office, how do you field requests from unexpected visitors? Is there a manager or department leader willing to field emails on your behalf?
19.09.2025 14:07 β π 6 π 3 π¬ 1 π 1Things we learned from my wife being profiled by Campus Reform a few years ago:
- Be careful responding to emails from people you don't know asking about your research
- Don't list your office location on your university web profile page
Even if 100% of the stories are "bad about a person" it is still free speech.
20.09.2025 09:31 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Wow! Free speech is under attack and you're calling for apologies? I guess we can put @variety.com on the list of spineless MAGA shills.
20.09.2025 09:02 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0This happens tomorrow!
20.09.2025 08:59 β π 6 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Thanks so much for having me on the show!

17.09.2025 12:51 β π 7 π 6 π¬ 1 π 0I think many people were outraged about the Minnesota lawmaker who was murdered but we trusted Tim Walz not to rile up a bunch of barely verbal vigilantes to make sure that loads and loads more "political violence" immediately followed.
11.09.2025 18:50 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0@netflix.com Hi Netflix! What's going on with the download limits? I haven't grabbed anything in months and today I have apparently already reached some new limit you all just invented? What the heck?
06.09.2025 12:46 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0If you're planning to vote in @thepsf.bsky.social Board Elections and maybe thinking of taking the weekend to learn about the candidates, may I suggest that you check for your ballot today? PSF staff won't be working on the weekend and won't be able to help you until next week.

Doesn't this witch combust when she prays?
27.08.2025 21:04 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0A ton of people would vote for Tim Walz or AOC. The "stupid game" is pretending to be sure that a person who's already thrown one marginalized group under the bus won't piss off more groups and the best way to make sure Newsom never feels accountable is to crown him as the nominee three years out. π
27.08.2025 21:03 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Or we could actually have an open Democratic primary and see who's inspiring the most votes instead of letting a tiny group of people on the party payroll decide who they want the nominee to be, voters be damned.
27.08.2025 20:54 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Time's running out!
