A.I. deployed as a propaganda machine is a much more familiar technology than A.I. deployed as an oracle. For those of us less attracted to (or convinced by) an anti-political mystic machine god, answering questions like "why did computer do that?" and "how to make computer do exactly what I want?" are of paramount importance, even if they also open up the possibility of more subtle manipulations.
