I get so much shit for having kids - I've been told more than once that I'm the straightest queer person ever because I had kids in my 20s. (It's meant as an insult.)

My kids are SO wanted. They've been my life goal since I was in middle school. They are my life's joy. Not some grievous error.

In queer spaces, parenthood is often met with so much disdain; largely a pushback against all the heteronormativity that's been shoved down our throats. I get it! But it makes for such a lonely path as a queer parent.

This is a stunning betrayal by Whitman Walker in DC.

Please contact these senators who are on the committee which will hear SB 441 and tell them that you STRONGLY oppose it, as it would put transgender Hoosiers at risk:

I am particularly bothered by the fact that there is some way to track this, which in effect generates a list of trans Hoosiers. Think of how many people hate us. Think of how many people could misuse such a list.

A preview of IN SB441, which includes the summary: "Definition of sex and gender; birth certificates. Defines "sex" and "gender" for the purposes of the Indiana Code. States that the definition of "sex" and "gender" are meant to be synonymous in the Indiana Code unless specifically defined otherwise and is clarifying language. Requires the bureau of motor vehicles and the Indiana department of health (state department) to update the definition of sex used by the agencies. Requires the state department to: (1) identify birth certificates issued with a change in sex classification by court order; (2) change the sex on the birth certificate back to the originating sex and reissue the birth certificate; and (3) void the superseded document."

CIS ALLIES: CONTACT INDIANA STATE SENATORS (Particularly if you live in Indiana!!)

SB 441 would revert drivers licenses and birth certificates back to their original form, putting countless trans Hoosiers at risk.
