I've been posting the progress of my Desecrated Saint over the weekend, here she is finished, and in one of the Official Trench Crusade backdrops by Handiwork Games, which makes her look so lovely! I think having some context to the minis when photographing makes them pop really well. I don't get much hobby time lately but I'm really happy with this, and a bunch other minis I made over the weekend too (show you them soon!) and I liked the problem solving of how do I represent the Desecrated Saint with what's in my bits box. She's made from mostly Bad Squiddo parts of kits and the main body is the big ghoul lady from Mammoth Minis. Was a shame to cut her head off so I'll have to get another! I was struggling with a tissue cape too and then decided to try some fabric and just pva instead of pva and water and I'm really happy with that too.

Women of WW2: Resistance is the most rewarding project I've ever worked on and I've cried so much in possibly every way! And I can't put into words how happy I am that you have really loved this, telling the stories and hearing new ones is incredible. I have a strong feeling there will be a sequel!

Věra joined the resistance aged 15, and got to work smuggling people over the borders such as Poland to Slovakia, to Hungary and onto Yugoslavia. An exceedingly dangerous job which took her story to Auschwitz, where she used her theory that not many people die on their birthday, to take up an unknown task. That task ended up being moved to a more central camp assembling V-2 bombs, which she of course sabotaged. Vera passed away peacefully aged 82 on Decemer 11th, which was not her birthday.
