So the main reason I wanted to watch Gotham in the first place was for Jarvis Tetch, cuz I am a big slut for most versions of the Mad Hatter. (Yes, even the Disney one....) But he doesn't show up for a good long while!!!

Thankfully It fell in love with Oswald too, who was always there. 😂

I have severe social anxiety, so even at my best mental health I'm still very hypervigilant and overanalyzing every bit of input to determine if it's socially acceptable to engage with someone. And sometimes that process is so exhausting I can't reach out even when I know it would be okay to lol l.

A side note to that quote post, the reason I try to let myself be chatty on my socials is because that's my way of talking more with my friends.

Initiating convos one on one feels too much like a burden and obligation I'm forcing on to people, but talking to them indirectly via a post is easier.

And I'm always sorry for that, and sorry that I can't push myself to interact with most people on a consistent basis. :(

I think about a lot of you constantly though, and think about things that I'd love to share and chat about. It just doesn't translate to actually talking for real, sadly.

It's very much part of "out of sight, out of mind" brain rules too. Where if people aren't putting stuff in my line of sight on socials it doesn't register that they are there to talk to? Combined with a wack sense of timescales it means we won't talk for months and I don't even notice.

I have no ability to sense when or if people want to hear from me, regardless of it being either my nature or a coping mechanism.

I just always assume the answer is "no" at worst, or "it doesn't matter either way" at best. Sometimes I can mask my self doubts enough to initiate interaction though.

I'm just sitting here on this lovely Sunday afternoon and I'm being ATTACKED. 😭

But for real, the question of "am I like this because it's my nature or because I've adopted it as second nature to protect myself?" doesn't have just one answer.

Incidentally, if we're friendly and you wished we talked more, 100% it's me and not you, it would just never occur to me that someone would want to hear from me

I brought up Gotham with @directormarz.bsky.social last night and ahhhhh I wish it was easier to recommend this show, but it's harder to find now and also is VERY LONG. Like only 5 seasons but 24 eps in each season and each episode is like an hour lol.
