Book cover for Vanished. Features a nineteenth-century print with a fossilised mastodon skeleton, Asian elephant being ridden by a turbaned man, Native and colonial figures looking on. In the background is a mountainous landscape and there is also a single passenger pigeon in the sky. The whole scene is framed by an ornate frame and foliage.

Below the book is the following text: A love letter to the astonishing ways of being that have survived past extinctions, and an exhortation to create a worthwhile world.

Oxford University press seem to have a number of line by line commentaries but I'm not sure if they have a complete set.

There are quite a number of no doubt highly commendable commentaries available, but if you want a slightly more popular and digestible take, I found Stephen Greenblatt's 'The Swerve: how the world became modern' very accessible.

One version of this image seems to be a bus stop in Bethnal Green East London. Not sure whether the image is real or has been generated however

Scored early then average nervy period when swfc seemed to be on top. A few half chances for us in the second half but kept the owls at bay until the game was finally put to bed by Ramazani and Tanaka in the last few minutes. Very enjoyable in retrospect but a bit twitchy in the middle

Managed a Y2K project under contract to a major UK retailer. Successfully averted any potential problems but did discover during testing that their in-house app would not have worked on the 1st of January of any year ...
