So dramatic! I love it!

Trivia time: For what 1995 action movie could this little geko π¦ have been the inspiration?
π· Photographed on Corsica in 2024 on my Sony a7rIV
An European robin showing of its magnificent red face, neck and breast.
Mostly birds are very easily spooked, but this european robin πͺΆ was completely unbothered. When I noticed it I was so close that I had to move a few steps away to take the photo π·. A very kind and beautiful encounter.

18.11.2024 11:47 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Beautiful! I love the detail on the eye an beak. So many great birds in this world π€©

18.11.2024 11:44 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Great job to get the lighting right on this beautiful bird. I can never quite manage it with the dark and shiny coat. Especially with the bright background.

Female peacocks πͺΆ do not get enough love. Zoom in to see the intricate details in her feathers and like if you agree π π·

I am so good and well behaved today. You could easily leave me alone with a whole stick of butter for example.

When I was at Sliabh Liag some months ago I saw these Wheatears πͺΆ Got some nice photos π· of multiple specimen both male and female. When I edited the photos I was surprised to find that I hadnβt gotten a SINGLE ONE without at least one, sometimes three bugs in the beak. They must be amazing hunters!
21.07.2024 22:38 β π 23 π 2 π¬ 0 π 0The Irish coast has all the colors. A perfect place to feature a greyscale #bird πͺΆ such a dramatic scenery with strong winds and steep cliffs. But the seagulls navigate it effortlessly. π·
16.07.2024 22:42 β π 10 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0A small brown bird with a peculiarly curved and slim beak called a treecreeper. It is sitting in some mossy bark.
Got a picture of a tree creeper πͺΆ while he is not - well - creeping right on the tree! Such an interesting beak shape. Perfect for snacking on little bugs under the bark.
07.07.2024 21:58 β π 20 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0A European robin looking into the camera longingly from behind some leaves.
Hello bird πͺΆ feed. Iβm back. Depicted below is me watching you all posting awesome photos while Iβm in over my head with my new job. Thanks for keeping me inspired! Now letβs get this dusty camera back out πͺ

A berry.
In bird culture this is considered a show of great wealth! π·
European starlings are WILD! I underexpose my images when I take them π· to not blow out the highlights. So when I corrected the exposure afterwards it was a great surprise that the evening sun hit the feathers πͺΆ just right on these proud birds.
10.04.2024 22:38 β π 17 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0First nice photo in weeks: This red kite with a mouse in their claws πͺΆ π·
Did not see that when it was flying overhead. What a surprise!
Can you do #caturday on Bluesky? If so, have a picture of my other cat. Proud and strong FIP survivor who deserves everything forever for going through absolute hell for half a year β€οΈ
(Looks like this is cat content for now. Birds may resume when they allow it.)
An orange cat with great orange and green-yellow eyes looking gently into the camera. It looks soft and cuddly but would rather not be disturbed at this time because it has just eaten and wants to sleep for a bit now.
Hello world, yes: this is my cat and I love him very much. Also you can see the reflection of me and my living room in his eye.
22.02.2024 22:37 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0New PFP day to celebrate Bluesky opening up. Somewhat counterintuitively photographing birds and animals does not in fact make you instantly good at photographing people. Taking selfportraits is a great exercise in selfreflection though. If you have a camera you should try it. π·
09.02.2024 16:10 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Iβll definitely share it here when I find a good solution π
03.02.2024 18:08 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Yea, that sounds familiar. I really need to at least get all my photos off of the sd cards. Someday Iβll loose a ton of raws and then maybe Iβll learn π
03.02.2024 17:51 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Itβs just good practice honestly. But the amount of data goes insane! I use a Ξ±7rIV, so the uncompressed raws are 120mb π± someday Iβll just have to get a server or something to store all the photos. How do you manage all the data?
03.02.2024 14:34 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Thank you! It was a pretty lucky one, too. A reminder to just take the camera whenever possible. You never know what you may find.
03.02.2024 09:39 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0You got it! Germanys largest bird of prey. This one I saw in the Black Forrest region, but they are very common in southwestern Germany.
03.02.2024 09:37 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Thank you! They are wonderful birds. Always a treat to see one so close in good light.

Re-edited this bird πͺΆ pic I took π· a few years ago. It was with my first camera and I just got my first decent lens. Still so happy with it (and glad that I keep all raws forever basically).
