Surgery recovery is finally starting to go well. After spending the first 30+ hours with no painkillers (thanks, nameless pharmacy, for that and delaying an emergency prescription for 24 hours!). Can finally get out of bed on my own without feeling my nervous system burning. One day at a time.

So it turns out when a spinal fusion fails, it leaves behind scar tissue that needs to be removed. I didn't know that amount of pain is not just possible, but survivable. Holy shit. That's a feeling I don't think I'll ever forget.
