2) Was recently sent a one-page text to provide feedback. Added my comments, sent it back. "Did you use GPT??"

I admit I sometimes use em dashes and my texts may sound robotic 🥲... BUT I have not used GPT to write them.

The manager did not know about the criteria/assumptions/etc that produced that dashboard, didn't bother to ask, didn't bother to read the short documentation on it.

When they asked GPT the same question but sharing the necessary assumptions, their GPT confirmed the data was correct... "Oh I see".

Work experiences with AI so far:

1) "These numbers are wrong" shared in a public company slack channel, addressing me about a multiple tab dashboard with several reports I had created. Thirty minutes or so later, I find out the manager had fed the data to chatGPT, and the bot said it was wrong.

TIL that "LinkedIn Profile Strategist" is apparently a job, and one of them tried to connect with me on Linkedin (naturally), in the mistaken belief that I might want a strategist for my LinkedIn profile.

Can I just get a peek at 10 years from now to see if it’s worth continuing on with working and paying the bills?

Thats not to say there haven't been growing pains. When a great steak comes out of the microwave I get really excited. But more than half the steaks that come out of the microwave get sent back by the customer. To solve this problem I now run ten microwaves in parallel cooking ten steaks. One out of the ten steaks will most likely be good. The number of microwaves has required me to upgrade my restaurant's electrical system and I now have a small nuclear reactor installed in the parking lot.
