Well, this is alarming.

The few coworkers I have that drive to work are always amazed that I bike in the rain and don’t require a two ton raincoat like they do.

If you drive a vehicle I am begging you to use turn signals. I’ve both experienced and witnessed way too many close calls that could have been easily avoided if your signal was on.

Flex-posts are auto infrastructure information, not bicyclist safety infrastructure.

I dream about an entire city populated by people driving golf carts like this. Less noise, pollution, danger and traffic. Prioritizing vehicles like this at stores would be a great start.

I honestly believe this $7k electric golf cart would solve a ton of problems in our cities. If forced to own a car again I’d choose something like this.

You might never pay off your student loan debts, own a home, or ever feel financially stable, but at least you can buy an F150 and take out those frustrations on other people. Capitalism is the root cause of most of their fears and frustrations.

Agreed. There are a lot of people who feel powerless and that scares them. Their vehicle is a way to exert what little power they have over others, whether it’s other drivers, pedestrians or cyclists.

We both know that won’t happen.

I don’t blame these trucks because they’re just doing their job. It’s all the people driving their personal vehicles that create this environment. Even the highway above is barely moving. #BikeNYC

Getting into baked potatoes recently. Maybe it’s the weather.

Rub your potato in olive oil, sprinkle with sea salt and roast on 425 on a parchment lined tray for 45 minutes or so. The skin will be crispy and the inside perfect. Vegan butter and some scallions for the perfect bite.

I’ve also seen the number of parents biking their kids to school increase each year. You used to see a few, but now it’s quite a lot.

Shoutout to all the moms and dads in NYC who are biking or walking their kids to school every day. You are making the city a less hostile, noisy, dangerous and polluted place for your children while spending time with them.

I’ve see drivers:

-throw bags of fast food out their window
-smoking blunts/drinking
-going the wrong way on a one way street
-hit bikers (once intentionally)
-chase after a biker for touching his car
-drive with no plates
-watch movies on an iPad mounted to dashboard
-hit a guy on a motorcycle

This gentleman proceeded to pass a school bus with its lights on and stop sign fully extended five blocks after I took this pic. At least they knew he was there because his bike is unbelievably loud.

Despite also having two wheels motorcycles are essentially just like cars. Like cars they are bullies on the road who use their size advantage to intimidate bikers.

A scary incident occurred at the Jay St Metrotech Station when a track fire caused the station to fill with smoke.

The @fdny.bsky.social response was delayed due to illegally parked vehicles on Jay St. They couldn't even access the curb due to @nypdnews.bsky.social vehicles parked at a bus stop.

Over the weekend I ran into two different hard working blue collar drivers who parked in a way that blocked both sidewalks. So sick of these selfish assholes. #nyc

German tourist, 50, killed after reversing minivan pins her against truck in Midtown Manhattan A German tourist was killed when she was struck by a reversing driver in Midtown Manhattan right outside the flagship branch of the New York Public Library Wednesday afternoon, police said.

“According to police, the minivan had a Mississippi license plate on its front and a “Times Square” souvenir vanity plate on its rear.”

Another preventable tragedy if the NYPD took fake or defaced plates seriously, but they don’t care.
