Author Tutorial: Finding a Link to a Story that is No Longer Available
YouTube video by Sam Moss Author Tutorial: Finding a Link to a Story that is No Longer Available

Have you ever published a story, poem or essay online, only to have the venue fold and your work disappear?

It's not fun, but there is a good technique that can help you out.

I put together a quick video that shows how to find a saved copy of your work: youtu.be/v_Pym4yd528

Incredible restraint, a sense of mystery that lingers, a lazing library cat! @addisonzeller.bsky.social is back in hex with an absolute wonder that we can't stop thinking about! Go! πŸˆβ€β¬›

Breakfast chains and how I imagine they lean politically:
- IHOP: Center-Right International Liberalist/Europhile
- Dennys: Rothbardian Libertarian
- Waffle House: Anarcho-Crust-Syndicalist

The writer's incredible ability to simultaneously believe "no one reads my work" and "everyone has seen this and thinks it's old hat"

I can't be the only author who shies away from submitting reprints because you think "everyone's seen this before" (they haven't)

She’s aware this is not a new thought but it feels generically true even if, like, equal rights for parasites?

This organism, the intelligent rage of life, assembling itself without the ecstasy of conception. A pure mutant born of loveless turmoil. If the world did have a consciousness humans would basically be parasites, Joy thinks.

The lightning establishing a global nervous system, joining the sky and the sea and the earth to a rolling, dissociative, voice trying to articulate the indifferent rage of a body coming into disciplined existence.

She looks out at the sea and watches as the lightning does something sublimely terrifying to the world. Rendering the world an organ, turning the sky internal, and revealing its subordination.

Reprint in progress, a massive historical gothic adventure novel by Charles Maturin, set during the Albigensian Crusade, complete with werewolves (!) and some great epigraphs. "A gentle knight came pricking o'er the plain."

If someone gave me a million dollars I’d use it to write a book on weird fiction but if someone else gave me a million more dollars I’d use it to fund a site aping the Metal Archives database but for jazz sessionographies

Wild to think that, in the future, there might be a question on a high school history test like:

Q: Who is considered to have first brought the famine and genocide in Gaza to the world's attention?

A: Donald Trump
B: Marjorie Taylor Greene
C: Theo Von
D: All of the Above

I don’t think writers need to worry about AI writing novels/stories/poems. I think we’ll all be dead or in prison before that’s at issue.

In case you missed it: I had three poems published on Always Crashing yesterday.

The writing mode that produced these poems came on suddenly, lasted for a month or so, then left.

It was a strange time and the closest I've ever felt to being 'inhabited'.

SAMUEL M. MOSS / SOME COLUMN POEMS β€” always crashing Due to their layout, these pieces are best viewed in landscape mode or on desktop.

Very excited to have three poems up on @alwayscrashing.bsky.social today under the title 'Some Column Poems'

There is a lot 'behind' these poems, but my hope is that they stand on their own without context or explanation.

I'll post my first two attempts as a podcast guest below so you can observe my horrible evolution:
