The speeding; staring. Incessantly consummated sprawlscapes. Fastfood signage looming crypto-crucifixially. Long drive after long self-un-fulfilling drive down earsearing arteries.

I've only seen people's political stances change when they got to know someone from a group they thought they hated.

New review up at Seize the Press, on Christopher Barzak's A Voice Calling, where I do some close reading and some ranting about failures of the weird

There are four (4) acceptable types of author photos:
- 'Why are you looking at me?'
- 'My neck hurts.'
- 'My head hurts.'
- 'What kind of bird is that?'

There is a secret, fifth, type of author photo, that should not be attempted except by the elect called 'This couch is comfortable.'

Nice. Hadn't heard of this, but it seems kind of close. Cool designs.

Is the game good?

The goal of the artist is not to resolve life’s mysteries, but to deepen them.

I think there are too many linguists who approach language with a sense of awe and wonder. For balance we need some linguists who are disgusted by it, who approach it with trepidation, harbouring ill will towards it

I would conservatively estimate that 90% of literary discourse online is driven by people who literally do not read what they're pontificating about. They complain about contemporary fiction, literary fiction, genre fiction, postmodernism, YA books, whatever that they just do not read.

I gotta say, "the Pentagon uses a high powered laser to shoot down a party balloon" feels like enough symbolism for awhile. all full up thanks

Let's 'Santorum' Schumer.

A 'Schumer' is one of those pieces of dog shit that's been outside so long it's grown in a layer of white mold.

In a sentence: "Someone forgot to clean up after their dog, and now there is a schumer by the water fountain."

You could customize your train with different cars, some of them had monks.

Some cars had mechanic monks that could repair your train, another car had monks that could perform magical attacks et c.

Dreamt that there was a game somewhere between Car Wars and Battlefleet Gothic but with trains.

Like gothic trains battling each other in a misty setting.

How to be a Writer.
1. Stare out of window at rain.
2. Experience a certain lassitude.
3. Contemplate the infinite.
4. Tea.

Got to look at the 'dramatic changes' Dems are proposing for ICE:
- Training will include an 8 hour improv intensive
- Mandatory Mirroring exercise before each shift
- A grumpy stage manager will be embedded with each unit
- Questions from the public may only be answered with a 'Yes, and!'
