It's weird how most games have to try really hard to make me want to explore. But in space, with hardly anything to see? Im just so pumped. Maybe its because when charting space, I know the types of things I COULD find rather than being totally clueless.

Okay so my pilot career is gonna be something like this. Do a bit of exploring and mapping of the Bubble. Do some odd jobs as the opportunity arises. Get myself some ships that can go real far! Then. Go REALLY FAR!!

I do like the map filter for showing visited and unvisited systems. And the option to only display it on your route is cool. I just wish there was another option to plot a route that will prefer unvisited systems. But maybe thats just too convenient. Map data is very valuable after all.

Huh, I wonder if it's possible to plot a custom route by manually selecting individual stars. Like perhaps a manual route plotting mode on the map screen that shows distances relative to the selected star, current total distance travelled, stuff like that. #EliteDangerous

I got this post as a notif hours ago and I can't stop thinking about how it's a perfectly distilled example of how racism and discrimination doesn't just hurt the targets. It literally only makes things worse.

Alright. I think I know what I want from Elite Dangerous. It's what I wanted since I was a kid. I want to explore space. Just for the excitement of discovery. I'm writing a tourism list now.

Then again, I doubt anyone would really care much about the structure of communication networks and how it impacts galactic society.

I wonder if Frontier accepts fan submitted concepts for fleshing out lore or if I should just keep to myself and fansites. I just like the idea of painting a picture of intersteller civilization. #EliteDangerous

Perhaps the galactic comms network is more akin to dial-up or even early broadband. A bit slow but still fast enough for most purposes.

But that then begs the question, what is the bandwidth of a Nav Beacon? Obviously handling a galaxy's worth of back and forth data is impossible, hell even just accounting for The Bubble seems unlikely. Too many people means too much data.

I often wonder how communication works in sci-fi settings. I'd assume GalNet transmits its data via some kind of FSD drive that emits FTL data stream pulses that are recieved by Nav Beacons in each colonized star system. #EliteDangerous

Oh no. Im even dumber than i thought. I can get collectors to grab more than one thing by simply launching them without a target selected. ☠️

I thought collector limpets were pointless since they could only grab one thing. Until I realized they are meant for when you dont have the time to collect something manually. Im no pirate so I never considered such a use case. #EliteDangerous

Elite:Dangerous has such a good vibe. Something about being an independent pilot performing all sorts of odd jobs in a vast galaxy is so cool
