With 65 island municipalities, Greece is a perfect natural laboratory for comparative research on small island politics. The lessons are relevant for small islands around the world!

In this new publication in SESP - South European Society and Politics - my amazing colleague Wouter Veenendaal and I examine how the population size of Greek islands affects participation, competition, leadership succession, the presence of parties, and clientelism.
