He’s absolutely right. I used to sneer at Klopp and Arteta when they were moaning until we started playing in Europe. They were right. The industry doesn’t look after its players at all. Rewards them well of course but risks injuries and a poor product to squeeze the last penny out of the fans.

One of the lovely things about our kids being older is that we’re going out for dinner whilst we leave the kids in charge of decorations! All I need to do is get everything out of the loft. 😂 Get to it kids!!

3 years on the football earnings rule but SCR applies this year. Then there’s a sporting sanction if we don’t have this positive balance each window. Things are incredibly tight with these rules whichever aspect you look at. editorial.uefa.com/resources/02...

The other thing if the restricting factor is the % SCR then that 7m is still a couple of % increase when we’re trying to get from 85% ish to below 70%. It’s all very tight on SCR added to the rolling 3 year 60m limit from UEFA. So many rules and none are easy to navigate!!!

Think the key is how they’re interpret “positive transfer balance” in the UEFA sanctions. I haven’t read anything clearly stating whether that’s the full amount or an accounting amortised calculation. Accounting treatment is one thing, UEFAs sanctions could be something slightly different.

I think definitely if Slot does go (can’t see it yet tbh) Elliott goes back. I think sensible heads will prevail and we’ll get an agreement to be able to play him for say 25 games before triggering any obligation.

I tried to figure this out a couple of years ago but didn’t really get anywhere. As I remember there’s some kind of “power rating” for each club that helps to build up the odds of them winning each fixture. Then they can produce a frequency distribution of the likelihood of the number of points……
