Album cover for "LEFT/FOLK VII: Songbook Ov Thine Mourning Star" depicting a person, holding a flaming torch and a wine goblet, in front of a sigil.

Album description from Bandcamp:
"Dearest friends and enemies,

We would like to begin by extending our sincerest gratitude to every artist who submitted their incredible music for this compilation. With every release, we are blown away by the constant growth and refinement from our collaborators and by the bottomless well of creativity that we are given the chance to imbibe from. We would also like to thank everyone who contributed their art and writing to our very first e-zine, we are proud that our work resonates and aligns with the creative efforts of so many talented people, and that we have the privilege to be able to collaborate with such likeminded individuals.

We have arrived once again with another vast collection of songs, lovingly curated, for your immediate consumption. You can expect songs that play with the past, through traditional arrangements and concepts, given a new life within the context of today. You will encounter rousing energy and dissonance as rebellious joy and elation in the form of sound. You will be drawn into complex soundscapes that challenge your perception of folk music, time, and space. You will even enjoy a bit of celebratory hedonism and a warning as declaration. These are expressions that push against the general disarray of life under the World As It Is.

The world remains an all-consuming shadow, stretching outwards towards a grim horizon, with very little in the way of hope or reconciliation. The planet, in the face of all these horrors, seems to exist in a state of perpetual mourning. Tragedies compounding. With ecological collapse, conflict, a rising global fascism, and the brutality of genocide enforced by a regime of cold indifference and banal consumption. Our latest collection is an attempt to help cultivate a panacea to this despair, a call to action, and an invitation …

B&W album cover for "LEFT/FOLK VI: The World As It Is" showing flowers and barbed wire.

Album description from Bandcamp:
"Greetings dearest friends and bitterest enemies,

First, we would like to thank everyone who has contributed their wonderful work to this collection. We have truly found a niche of unique and talented artists, and we are forever grateful for it.

We welcome you all back with open arms and weary hearts, for the first Left/Folk compilation of the new year. This collection expands on the sound of what makes up our milieu, bringing in some harsher and more martial elements, while exploring themes that may upset and entice, sometimes falling into depths of horror and sorrow… though not without beauty and hope, the fruits of the living and the dying. Such is the reflection of the world as it currently is.

There are unspeakable things happening, but they must be spoken, for the voiceless scream without being heard. Every day we are exposed to new forms of cruelty, yet so many sit by, idly pretending that this is fine, far too many. We must demand, no, work towards the liberation of all people from State violence, from genocide, from subjugation. So long as this happens, we are complicit.

With that said, we invite you to join us in this aural space, to linger a while, and hopefully find encouragement or inspiration from this collection. We want to cultivate the flame, so we may cast the spirit of The-World-As-It-Is ablaze with our creativity and joy and sorrow and anger. It must. As is the process of regeneration, of improvement, of justice.

All funds raised from this compilation will be donated to ANERA (American Near East Refugee Aid) which has a formidable reputation for being effective in getting aid to refugees and vulnerable communities in Palestine and Lebanon. Though we present you with a suggested price, we are appreciative of anything more that you decide to give. Every dollar counts.

The future is in your hands, stay feral.

Album cover for "Mutual Aid & Art Supplies for Child Survivors of Gaza in Egypt" by Forest Summoner in November 2024. Bottom text reads: "black metal | red metal | doom metal | experimental | dungeon synth"

Album description from Bandcamp:
"Forest Summoner is proud to release our first Mutual Aid Compilation.

We are working with a Mutual Aid group that is creating enrichment and art activities for Child Survivors from Gaza in Cairo. The money from this album is going to buy art supplies, and basic critical items like baby formula, clothes, and school materials. These items/money will be taken by a comrade in LA and delivered to the Mutual Aid group in Cairo, Egypt.

It is not commonly known that those who were forced out of Gaza were forced to pay (often extorted) $5000 to get into Egypt. They are not granted Refugee status, so they can not receive normal refugee aid or apply for work visas. Once in another country, it is nearly impossible to sustain oneself much less a family in these conditions.

I've sat in hour long zooms with the mutual aid group, Tasha. They shared personal horror stories that these children have been through. They also showed us some of the art they were making. It was brutally depressing to see the things these children drew, and their lack of self identity coming across in self portraits.

I used to think how "neat" a concept Mutual Aid was, and now I see it as the only way forward.

Thank you to all the bands and musicians who donated music to this cause. "

Album cover for the compilation "Heavy for the Hollers: a compilation for appalachian storm relief" by Liminal Dread Productions.

Album description from Bandcamp:

"The collected efforts of over 55 bands have coalesced into "Heavy for the Hollers", a 4.5+ hour genre-spanning compilation that unites artists from across the scene together in a common cause.

The devastating effects of Hurricane Helene were felt across the nation but most potently in Appalachia due to it's lack of resources and infrastructure robust enough to resist a storm of such magnitude. We at Liminal Dread Productions in conjunction with the band Threnodist felt compelled to compile this set of tracks in hopes that it might encourage many to give what they can in service of beginning the healing process. Though immediate aid is critical, it is sustained giving which allows a region to recover.

All proceeds from sale of this compilation will go to Mutual Aid Disaster relief."
