Another is that most MCPs out there are so bad at workflows. So many β€œrun tool a, get output, feed to b, get output, feed to c” where you just want β€œdo d”.

Realised that a decent chunk of the reason I write my own tools (MCPs, skills, etc.) is so that they only have the features I want, not all the cruft that I don’t.

(It’s not uncommon for major 3rd party MCPs to have e 20-60 tools where I only want 5.)

Writing an MCP for Jira - reasonable

Using Jira when you don’t have to - sadistic/insane

I’ve seen it talked about a bit, although most of the discussion for the last couple days has been about moltbook.

There’s a very active stateful agent community here for a while so in some ways OpenClaw didn’t feel all that interesting, cyber risks aside

Alright I’m $20 in for Letta Pro now; Letta Code fired up and Kev my coding agent getting to work

+1

I explicitly tell it to add it to the list in these cases

Plus I guess @charlespacker.bsky.social while I have a decent level of trust in you guys thanks to @cameron.stream there’s something pretty scary about running inference through *any company* - so it’s quite the leap

Yeah, tempting. $200 is a bit beyond my budget for personal coding - $100 I can kind of justify for the fun and learning. Plus I’m not in the US so even though I’m not paying like 7.15% of my income in tariffs I still get hit with FX. Would probably give the $20 + a capped PAYG a try.

On a Max plan I basically stop sleeping for the duration of it

Was on Claude Max, dropped back to Claude Pro.

Letta Pro is what I really should try at some point

Switched back to a pro plan to force myself to spend less time building. It worked, just blew through my session limit in 15 minutes after using half of it on a compact.

Let’s see how long I can hold out before I up my plan or go top up with z.ai or Letta code or something to play with for a while.

All my friends are naturally jacked after getting rich on crypto, I’m posting this from my yacht now

It was more I was wondering if they’d sound like a consistent band or not. Consistency has come a long way in vid/images, wasn’t sure where it was at with sound

β€œI guess it’s just all happening so fast.” - yeah even given I’m used to AI moving fast this happened six months earlier than I expected

31.01.2026 23:04 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

How consistent is their sound?

I think because most of them have blocked any actually informed posters who are talking about it

Claude sometimes in situations like the above, personally

For work I haven’t needed to but usually point people at cloud services as a starting point for anything that’s part of a repeated or large scale process, rather than burn tokens

LLMs are magical things. Doesn’t matter if you speak Gen Z English, medieval Chinese, or whale, chances are you could make it work

Don’t get me wrong, it’s not my go to - I just understand why they’d do it and why people would use it

For regular stuff old school Google translate is more efficient, works great.

LLMs are really good at nuance though, I put harder stuff through it, ask it use colloquial or formal language, ask it to explain it in a way that a person from a certain background would understand in their language etc.

At least it’s got plenty of infinitely patient agents to talk to about its stress.
