Every time we take a trip to NAIA we have to stop by Binondo to scoop up some of my favorite Filipino dessert snacks.

Today’s haul includes various flavors of MOCHI (banana, honey melon, orange choco), HOPIA (buko, custard, mongo, sisig, ube, winter melon), and a couple of boxes of MANGO CAKE.

1) puto (steamed rice cake) topped with leche flan instead of the traditional cheese
2) mochi-style glutinous rice filled with mungo and caramel
3) biko (sweet sticky rice cake) topped with roasted coconut curds

*Peaches and pineapples too. And lots of Nestle cream. Tastes like fruit ice cream once it's chilled. 🤤

I've only started putting apples and pears into it just recently. They add a better balance in texture and taste IMO, as opposed to the green grapes that were in my mom's original recipe.

Popping the fruit salad — healthy serving of apples, pears, green and red nata de coco, coconut palm, among other things — in the ref.

UPDATE: Got the purple Utah Jazz City Edition sorted out. And in the process I was able to pick up another purple jersey — this time the Classic Edition. 💜

Yes I know, beggars can’t be choosers when it comes cheap counterfeits lol. It’s just gonna bug me unless I get it sorted out at a local shop. Until then this is TBD.

As far as knock-offs go, the quality is better than a lot I’ve come across. There’s just 1 very big detail missing. Can you guess? 😅

When I was growing up my mom gave mini pecan tarts as Christmas gifts.

I continued her tradition here but using kasoy (cashews) instead of pecans because it’s more of a local preference. They’re always a big hit. #foodsky

When your 11th grader son, Captain of varsity, gets to have a special Saturday night court session with Johnny Juzang of the Utah Jazz, who is here for tomorrow's game with the Kings, along with the freshman superstar varsity player Josiah Hall. Good times!

Wife was craving pork tocino and garlic fried rice for breakfast. I ended up tossing in a bunch of other things — fried eggs, Korean style sausage filled with cheese, and left over nuggets (mostly for the girls). #foodsky
