On World Embroidery day I’m reminded of the textiles and other items held in NT collections. One I’m always thinking about a c.1700s tea caddy. Veneered in embroidered birch bark it juxtaposes scenes of Indigenous/First Nations figures in the landscape with European settlers taking tea.
