This is the cease and desist letter Desert Rising (Tucson) sent to the University of Arizona.

Today we served the #UniversityOfArizona a cease & desist letter as they are in violation of the Clery Act. The University never disclosed the surveillance of students, faculty & staff through the usage of 50+ Flock Safety ALPR's.

The Clery Act mandates transparency, something the University lacks.

There’s no reason why an ALPR can’t simply trigger a warning when a suspect vehicle is imaged. Tracking, storing, & marketing YOUR movements is a data grift, not a public safety measure.
