Also if you plan on adding clothes you will have to weights paint them to. So you can wait until you have some

But adding lighting to your UV is a difficult thing to do...
Have you tried just putting a light source in your blender scene ? With a bit of tweaking you can create the lighting you want

Install the loop tools add-ons (It's directly inside blender just have to activate it), select the edge loops, right click, loop tools and then circle/relax depending of what looks good

The geometry doesn't have a smooth transition that might be why it looks jagged. Try adding a loop and bevel it until it's smooth
