I know one of the unspoken arguments a lot of the established showrunning and networks have against making LGBTQ+ characters canon is basically "but if they're gay, how can our audience goon over them"

Skill issue: there's nothing stopping them from ignoring canon like other fans

As an example for this table: stuffing your arm in a sack of weasels and taking more than one bite before removing it is a One Bite task.

Any thoughts?

You may keep your arm in the sack as long as you wish or until the gm scolds you for wasting the weasels time.

Once you remove your arm count the new bite marks. You then compare this to an arbitrary difficulty table where more weasel bites are required for harder tasks.

New game engine, it's called Ten Weasels.

You get ten weasels and put them in a sack. When your character attempts something you shove your arm in the sack with the weasels, you must not harm the weasels (this is important)

Yep. This is literally how it goes with popular media. Books, film, television, everything.

The majority of what you put out will break even, be a mild success, or lose money. But you'll have a scant handful of superstars that basically pay for everything else.

The adversary of my annoyance is my fair weather friend. 😄

Similarly, as I transition back to doing ttrpg content and social media full time I have a threshold of ~10% of my following supporting me at $5/month to be golden.

It's like the sudden failure of a dam. A lot of pressure and erosion over years, possibly some poor management and building practices at the start, then when it fails it tends to fail very swiftly.
