and I’m pretty certain this catenary could not support any upwards force from a pantograph.
I’m guessing that it’s just a trailing segment from the previous station, but that’s a long way away for that. Is it live? Or is it something totally different?

The slowly rotting away National Rail platforms of the Northern City line at Highbury & Islington station, with a very precarious looking piece of catenary hanging from the ceiling. It looks more like a trolley wire and is only a single wire supported by some cable hanging from the ceiling, which isn’t even tense.
