It seems as if the footage of the broken warp core in #StarTrekTNG's "The Drumhead"⬆️ could not be located for the remastering of the episode ⬇️ as it can be seen that the original SD footage was recolored and re-used for the HD version of the episode.

Here's an overview of the 6 appearances of the console I have found so far. It's also seen on a background screen in the 1980 Incredible Hulk episode "Prometheus II"⬇️ and the slanted dark part from "Battle Beyond the Stars" is seen in the 1981 Buck Rogers episode "Mark of the Saurians"⬆️. 8/8

The console makes its final appearance on #StarTrekTNG (and #StarTrek in general, I think) in late 1993 in season 7's "Attached" as a Kes console. There's an additional gadget on top of the left part but I think it was only put there for this episode. It seems the console no longer exists today. 7/8

Interestingly, in all of the wide shots in #StarTrekTNG's "Devil's Due"⬆️, the console only shows its regular blue screens. In the close-ups ⬇️, LCARS displays were inserted into the console in post production, both in the original ↙️ and (slightly different) remastered ↘️ version of the episode. 6/8

One year later, in 1991, the console appears in the Ventax III lab in #StarTrekTNG's "Devil's Due". The red tape was rempoved and the white LCARS labels are replaced with regular red LCARS labels. For the first time ↗️, somebody is actually seen using the console buttons and interfaces. 5/8

It next appears two years later in 1990 in the #StarTrekTNG season 3 episode "A Matter of Perspective" on the Tanuga IV research station. For this, it was adorned with lots of red tape and (unusually) white LCARS labels. The blue screens are not turned on in all appearances in the episode. 4/8

The console makes its first appearance on #StarTrekTNG 5 1/2 years later in early 1988 in "Datalore" in Dr. Soong's lab. The colourful buttons on the leftmost part and the scope are gone, the rest of the console is virtually identical. I wonder where it was seen in those 5+ years! 3/8

The console appeared for the first time on #StarTrek in 1982 in "Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan" on the Regula 1 station. There are now two blue display screens and what looks like a camera, a bendable microphone and a scope (from left to right) mounted under the left upper part of the console. 2/8

This very familiar Modern Props console was originally created for the 1980 film "Battle Beyond the Stars". At this point, there were colourful buttons on the top left display and there was just one small screen wqith blue static. The slanted black console will soon be removed... 🧵 1/8

Later today, I want to talk about a recurring Modern Props console that has appeared in four #StarTrekTNG episodes and in one #StarTrek film. I'm sure you have seen it before and if you know it from other productions, please let me know! I *will* cover the non-Trek film it was created for, though.

We don't know what beverage is served in the metallic tankards on Organia in #StarTrekTOS' "Errand of Mercy" but the Klingons are also eating green and black grapes on the planet. Only makes sense for Organian grapes to be the same colour as Organian goats. Wait, what is Lt. Hadley doing there? ;-)

This slow USS Enterprise-D flyby in #StarTrekTNG's "The Drumhead"⬅️ was originally created for "The Nth Degree"➡️, where the ship is actually seen flying backwards (at 1/4 impulse) to escape from the Cytherian probe. For the re-use, the footage was played backwards.

I came across this Profiles in History auction listing of a "Ghostbusters II"↗️ prop today. The Ghostbusters Wiki calls it a "latent image sensor". This prop, built by Modern Props, was later re-used several times on #StarTrek, one appearance I can recall is in #StarTrekVOY's "Resolutions"↘️. :-)

It seems to be (mostly) and Admiral's privilege to have a certain desk in the Enterprise-D guest quarters, as can be seen in #StarTrekTNG's "Too Short a Season"↖️, "Coming of Age"↗️, "Conspiracy"⬅️ and "The Drumhead"↙️) but K'Ehleyr ("Reunion"➡️) and Sisko ("Paradise Lost"↘️) also got the treatment! :-)

On Organia in #StarTrekTOS' "Errand of Mercy", Kor is seen drinking a clear Organian or Klingon alcoholic beverage from very familiar (from the Enterprise) blue glasses. The drink is clear but is poured from a a brown bottle with a stopper. I wonder what this is!

#StarTrekTNG's "The Drumhead"↖️↗️↙️ is the only episode of the show in which the inner engineering isolation door (the one closest to the warp core) is seen. In "The Best of Both Worlds I"↘️, the outer isolation door, which is seen several times, first appeared.

Twenty years lie between the Klingons seen in #StarTrekTOS' "Errand of Mercy"⬅️, drinking from a metallic mug and the Klingons seen on the IKS Pagh in #StarTrekTNG's "A Matter of Honor", drinking bloodwine from a metallic mug. They DO love their metallic mugs, even way back in #TOS! :-)

Both in the original ⬆️ and remastered ⬇️ versions of #StarTrekTNG's "The Drumhead" is the ship's roster displayed on the Observation Lounge screen sadly illegible. The graphic will re-appear in a later episode, though, but also illegible. 😅

In #StarTrekTOS' "This Side of Paradise", Dr. McCoy is seen sipping on a "real cold Georgia-style mint julep". I've never tried one, should I? The wikipedia article on the origin of the word "julep" and the drink is rather fascinating. 😅

#StarTrekTNG's "The Drumhead" features several shots showing Captain Picard in front of his big golden ships in the Observation Lounge. The ships were removed between seasons 4 and 5 some I'm going to highlight the last few appearances of the models, which were thankfully rescued from the dumpster.

Several kinds of vegetable plants with or without ripe vegetables are seen on Omicron Ceti III in #StarTrekTOS' "This Side of Paradise". I can make out corn and tomatos. What else can you see?

In late season 4 of #StarTrekTNG, the round pastel wall discs really started to prominently feature in various crew quarters. Here, the same small disc which looks like somebody took a bite out of it appears in Troi's quarters in "The Loss"⬅️ and in Satie's quarters in "The Drumhead"➡️.

#StarTrekTOS' "This Side of Paradise" features something rarely seen on #StarTrek: A bowl of colourful vegetables. Usually, and all the time on #StarTrekTNG, bowls of fruit are seen. A bowl with red apples is also briefly seen on Omicron Ceti III ⬇️ in the episode.

The geode bookend (they really did love their geodes on #StarTrekTNG!) in Admiral Satie's quarters in "The Drumhead"⬆️ will later be seen again in Geordi's quarters (behind the blob) in "Aquiel"⬇️.

After we've seen coffee and all kinds of alcoholic beverages numerous times on previous #StarTrekTOS episodes, "This Side of Paradise" features the first appearance of tea on #StarTrek. Definitely hot, maybe (not) Earl Grey. ;-)

When Admiral Satie prepares tea for Captain Picard in her guest quarters in #StarTrekTNG's "The Drumhead", she uses the very colourful Yoshiharu Fuwa tea service. Learn more about it (and spend some time) at this excellent site:

Two episodes of #StarTrekTNG in a row ("Qpid"⬆️ and "The Drumhead"⬇️) we got to see a very empty Observation Lounge set, redressed as the meeting room in the former episode. Between season 4 and 5, the area under the windows will be changed considerably with additional light slats.
