At some stage I will start feeling rather wistful about sitting through my last few days of debate in the States chamber before stepping down, but that feeling definately hasn't kicked in yet.

I am sorry but the invite came, I already had a prior commitment, immediately offered my apologies, and got a friendly acknowledgement of those apologies. Sometimes these clashes occur.

I'm heading to Gatwick on the 22nd with a connecting flight so mine are too.

Actually for the last thee to four months they have been very good outside of "weather events".

I have been putting together themed rounds for a music quiz and discovering lots of music I never knew and rediscovering other tunes . Earliest sunsets in Guernsey will be tomorrow and Thursday then the evenings will start drawing out - but only by seconds initially.

I have just finished watching part one of the superb BBC documentary "Rage against the regime". It is about the series of popular protests against state repression in post revolutionary Iran. Reminded me why I am so proud to be a former staffer and so happy to pay my license fee.

There must be an opening for a hotel / B+B in St. Malo to provide accomodation for Guernsey Folk arriving late evening. If it could be geared up specifically for them - late suppers - transfers for foot passengers - and so on it would prove popular. And maybe early breakfasts for those on the 8am?

Just this minute finished changing over from my summer to my winter Duvet. Maybe a few days too early but will be needed by mid-week.

P+R announces a 25% reduction in the PSO for Alderney air services. Will lead to higher fares. Dramatically so on Southampton route. Will that generate the cash required or just lead to lower pax numbers? If the latter not only will the PSO not be fully funded but Alderney airport losses will rise.

Thank you Simon de la Rue [GPP] for understanding & explaining that the tax package approved by the States isn't just GST but a suit of measures which taken together are very progressive. Hope even my biggest critics will accept that I have a track record of concern for those on modest incomes.
