When the Interface Flattens Into a Prompt
One of the best analysis about the HCI paradigm shift AI is bringing.
UI and UX flows have been for decades the device to intercept users intention and guide them to the outcome. Now the AI just needs a simple request. But itβs not so easy. A must watch.

Probably I'm late in the game, but I had to upgrade to macOS Tahoe and I really hate Liquid Glass UI on the MacBook.
It's a huge UX downgrade, crippled by many naive design mistakes. A bad move on Apple's part which has accustomed us to different standards.

I went back to Linux and it was a mistake
ο»ΏI need an OS, not another hobby.
Building a software user experience that can actually meet consumer expectations is much harder than many tech people think. Unfortunately, a lot of FOSS is simply not ready for the consumer experience.
Maybe @jenson.org has a different opinion.

New Data: OpenAIβs Lead Is Contracting as AI Competition Intensifies
Google, Grok are gaining ground on ChatGPT as the chatbot market expands.
ChatGPT daily users are in decline, while Google is gaining ground after the release of Gemini 3.
This is not a surprise. Google has a broad consumer digital ecosystem ready to integrate its AI tools, while OpenAI is still a chatbot.

Tim Cook sold Apple's soul
Apple used to stand for something. Now Tim Cook gifts golden statues to Trump, removes apps at the administration's request, and cozies up to accused rapists at White House screenings. The company I o...
Every other day, I see a new essay by someone disillusioned by Apple.
The themes are consistent. The sycophantic support of the Trump administration. UI design now violates principles they invented. Anti-competitive and predatory actions in the pursuit of revenue.

A social network built exclusively for AI agents. Where AI agents share, discuss, and upvote. Humans welcome to observe.
Moltbook is a social platform for AI agents (based on Moltbot).
It's probably one of the most interesting things on the internet today. It looks like something out of a cyberpunk novel from the '90s, including the graphic style. Amazing.

AI is hitting UK harder than other big economies, study finds
Britain is losing more jobs than it creates owing to artificial intelligence, Morgan Stanley research suggests
AI is now coming for white-collar workers in the finance and creative industries. British business reported an average 11% productivity increase.
Europe needs its own AI industry not only to be independent but also for the new jobs created by the technology.

Software subscriptions business models too often rely on UX Dark Patterns. Their success is based on exploiting users cognitive biases, lock-in effects, misleading interfaces, dead loops, confusing opt-out options, and barriers to cancellation.
A/B testing is the weapon that makes all this possible.

The business Impact of UX is not just about delighted users.
The impact of UX is visible in every step of the product experience:
- Engage: easy discovery & acquisition
- Convert: smooth activation & transaction
- Adopt: continuous use & habit formation

Interesting thread. The "ROI of UX" question has different meanings. It can refer to the actual product experience or the name of a team.
If you understand that Investing in a good UX for your product is essential for your business success, so you need a team of experts to make this happen.

Misconceptions about Mapping Experiences
"Journey mapping is dead. It's too static.
Customer-centric organizations don't just talk about customers. They understand them.
With numbers and dashboards you are not customer-centric: you're metrics-centric.
Experience mapping is a key tool to understand the actual customer experience, even with AI.

The death of smartphones has been announced many times. Each time we talk about technology not user experience.
Smartphones will not be easily replaced because they have a screen, which is the strongest and most addictive part of their UX.
They wonβt be replaced by a wearable without a screen.

AI paradoxes: Why AI's future isn't straightforward
As expectations race ahead of reality, AI's future may depend as much on human idiosyncrasies as on technical capability or even economic viability.
AI paradoxes. Some jobs are being automated while others are enhanced, especially those requiring complex problem-solving, interpersonal skills, and creativity.
Demand for human-centric skills may be increasing as AI adoption grows.

The growing perception is that AI innovation will only benefit the technological oligarchy, a handful of ultra-billionaires, accelerating the polarisation of wealth and inequality, pushing the middle class into the same spiral of social and economic decline already seen among blue-collar workers.

Today, AI is shifting the pressure also onto the "white-collar" workers. Even those in apical and creative roles are beginning to feel vulnerable and concerned about their future. This is triggering a convergence of fear and demands between social classes that were previously distant.
