Amyloid PET predicts longitudinal functional and cognitive trajectories in a heterogeneous cohort INTRODUCTION Amyloid positron emission tomography (PET) is increasingly available for diagnosis of Alzheimer`s disease (AD); however, its practical implications in heterogenous cohorts are debated. ...

Big congrats to Dr. Kyan Younes, for his recent publication in Alzheimer's and Dementia. Here we show that amyloid PET positivity predicts decline in participants enrolled throughout the national Alzheimer's Disease Research Center Program. alz-journals.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/...

We found that amyloid PET predicts progression from unimpaired cognition to MCI and dementia. Higher amyloid burden is linked to worse baseline memory and faster decline in memory, language, and global cognition, reinforcing its role as a prognostic marker in diverse cohorts.
