I mean of course the power lies in the hand of the people, if there is no one to make the machine run, it shuts down everything, the issue is that fear for survival, without proper protections in play, you have a lot less willing participants, and the few that stand up for it can be shot down.

I don’t disagree, but a union is supposed to protect your rights and job through a strike, the union for federal workers does not and unfortunately a lot of people aren’t prepared to make the sacrifice required to participate in an effective strike. Especially when that income is all they have.

A lot of federal workers, even under a union contract, are not authorized to strike and would lose their jobs and be barred from working in the federal gov - not worth it for a lot of people, going through the courts is sadly the only option
