to john.faulk, thomas.ryan, sumner.waring, bcc: Amy, bcc: George

Dear Mr. Faulk, Mr. Ryan, and Mr. Waring,

My mother is buried in Rosehill Cemetery, a Dignity property in Chicago, which your company manages. My father also holds a reserved plot there. I was deeply disturbed to learn that today, armed and masked federal agents were using the cemetery grounds as a staging area for immigration enforcement operations in the surrounding community.

I want to be clear: I do not expect SCI or Dignity to take political positions. What I do expect is that you uphold the dignity, sanctity, and safety of the spaces entrusted to your care. Cemeteries are sacred ground—places of mourning, reflection, and remembrance. Allowing armed, unidentified agents in unmarked vehicles to occupy that space desecrates it. It frightens visitors, community members, and employees alike, and it betrays the trust of the families who have chosen Rosehill as their loved ones’ final resting place.

As a private entity, SCI and Dignity have the legal right to prohibit ICE, CBP, and other federal enforcement personnel from using your property for such operations without a judicial warrant. I urge you to exercise that right and to adopt clear policies ensuring that no government agency may use any cemetery grounds under your management for enforcement or staging purposes. Doing so is not a political act—it is a moral and professional obligation to the deceased, their families, and your own staff.

Many of those interred at Rosehill, and the families who visit them, are immigrants themselves. To allow their resting place to be used in acts that terrorize the living descendants of immigrant communities is a profound moral failure. I ask that you take immediate steps to ensure that this never happens again and communicate publicly your commitment to protecting the sanctity of these grounds.

I am requesting a written response outlining yo…

FOR THE RECORD:
There have been rumors. Now I will clear it up and be as unambiguous as possible.

The Magic: The Gathering release The Dark was 100% a commentary on the evils and hypocrisy of bigoted right wing Christians.

Having gone through the idiotic satanic panic of the 80s and then listening to their moronic and unfounded pearl clutching arguments that MTG promoted "devil worship", I had had enough and decided to hold a mirror up to them.

That is why White is represented as dangerous, dogmatic and unempathetic in the set. White in The Dark glorifies ignorance, mob mentality and violence against those who are different. The truth is that people who view themselves as virtuous and righteous can be as deadly and dangerous as any blood sacrificing devil cult when they forget the message of love that is supposed to be the foundation of their belief system. We can see that replaying today with MAGA.

I also wanted to paint spooky stuff.
Two birds, one stone.

Now you know.
If you go back and look at the white cards in The Dark it will become crystal clear what the meaning of the set is.
The Dark was a reference to the dark ages, when the church had full control of the population, when wise women and folk healers were burned as witches, education was only for the very elite and anyone who spoke up or strayed from the herd was killed in horrific ways.
Even today people are trying to bring those dark days back. I was shining a light on them with this set. That is one of the important roles art plays in society and I view games as an artform.

Happy Halloween!

Some bunnies crew a two-masted ship as they ride across waves on the pages of a giant book, it's pages turning like waves. In front of them, another book's pages turn from a image of a storm to an image of a sunny sky, and one bunny at the bow of the ship points forward excitedly.

an artwork by Spindle of the characters Tether and Enoch. Tether is behind held on the shoulder of Enoch, as he takes a selfie. Tether is wearing a green tube dress, red leggings, and pinkish-white "heels." The dress also is creating a pink holographic demon tail and horns (yes they're not just flair for the art). Enoch is wearing a red stop, rolled up sleeves with gold splotches on it

I tweet: "people who see 50% of their monthly paycheck go to rent don't care if a candidate eats with their hands. they want to hear what your candidate is going to do about housing."

who creates the lively art and music scenes if the rent is too high? who makes cultural life? who serves you food or washes your dishes? who creates the fancy little restaurants that draw you to urban living? affordable housing is at the heart of what makes city life worthwhile.

Perry: How can AI be used ethically when it’s been linked to suicide? "It’s not on us, on you and me, to use AI ethically or responsibly. It’s on the companies to build safe, reliable, ethical products," David M. Perry writes.

Here’s where it gets personal for me. When I was 9, I started experiencing suicidal ideation … disinterested in living, and at least some of the time contemplating death and how it might happen … It’s easy to imagine how I would have used programs like these chatbots.

I think my favorite thing about "every city reveals its inner character" era of ice protests is that people keep saying portland is weird or cute or nice or silly when one of the most common chants at the ice building is people looking up at feds on the roof and yelling "jump! jump! jump!" in unison

Just over an hour after 3 Supreme Court justices warned that Alabamian Anthony Boyd would suffer psychological torture, he was subjected to the longest nitrogen gas execution in US history, gasping for air more than 225 times. Read my eyewitness account: www.treadbylee.com/p/after-just...

I also do feel strongly that YA and children's fiction should include some element of hope. but kids experience death, and denying them the ability to see that and work through it in fiction is to lie to them. it's to paint a picture of a world that doesn't exist, where kids don't lose friends
