It really did happen.
It's meant to be funny.
Maybe I think it's funnier

It was so lovely playing at the Halloween event hosted by Transition Edinburgh South yesterday. The weather was a bit on-off rain, but it wasn't super cold and it was great to see the people I usually hang out with in the garden.

I AM AN IMMIGRANT II I am an immigrant. But I am white blue-eyed Scandi. So I am ‘acceptable’ even though I take a job buy a home have received a few benefits - but paid more tax. I am glad of course to blend in enough to not threaten the tribe. But really the only thing that makes me ‘acceptable’ is racism. © Saraphir Camille Legind

We Must by Saraphir Camille Legind We cannot we cannot be we cannot be happy should not be should not be able when there is so much suffering. When the world is on fire. When people starve. When nations are bombed. When innocents die in war. When children are murdered. When there is so much antagonism against difference. When there is so much hate so much hate. And yet we must we must be we must be able to still love. Or else the world will drown in suffering

I wrote this when I was feeling the weight of everything that's wrong in the world. How do we hold awareness of all the suffering without letting it drown us? I realised maybe the answer is focusing on love, not on our happiness. They are definitely not the same thing.

What is your superpower? Mine is I help people grow. By meeting what is different to ourselves we grow beyond what we already know. What is your superpower? Mine is I allow others to be free; by showing our differences openly we help everyone claim their humanity.

My take on the superpower thing from 3 1/2 years ago. I stammered since I was a child and worked to live with it well for the last 3 decades. If you love it it becomes a source of strength, and both it and you transform.

When a musician plays music they must experience it in their whole body. The dance, too, must be experienced by the dancer in a different way than those watching. I wonder if that is true of all artists?
