These are great! I went up yesterday and got a few but wow was it cold 🥶

Looking across a frozen pond to the trees on the opposite side. The trees are barely visible due to the morning fog. There's patches on the frozen pond surface where some of the water is warmer and has melted the fresh snow.

Was going out to meet a fried to see if there were any birds out this morning, but arrived to some fun foggy conditions after a bit of snow last night.

Rocky Mountain National Park

I was happy they were there considering the forecast said it would be totally clear.

Standing on the edge of a frozen mountain lake, where grasses are still visible in the snow. In the distance the sun is rising and there's an interesting pattern of clouds in the sky.

I think this is the first time I've been up to the mountains for some photography in January. It was a cold morning and the wind wasn't helping but it was still a fun outing.

I know so many photographers are just trying to get the shot as the eagle drops down and pulls a fish out of the water and no other shot will do, but I really enjoy photos that show a birds wings, feathers, and other details.

On a cold, snowy, winter morning an adult bald eagle has just leapt from the tree branch it as perched on and flies downwards towards the surface of the nearby lake. Its wings are spread wide as it glides down and flies away.

There was a bit of snow last night and I had a bit of time to get out to the lake this morning to see if the eagles were still active...

Temps look like they are going to be cold by the end of the week so I'm hoping Friday and Saturday might be good days to go out there again.

I've been out there every day for the past week. Most days have been really active and I've gotten some great photos, but the warm weather is driving them elsewhere I think. Very few today compared to previous days.

And yeah, that owl just sitting on a tree next to a sidewalk.
