There's been a couple at the park down lately that are kinda new for this area.

A green heron stands on a tree that's fallen in the water. It holds a small fish in its beak that it just caught seconds before. At the other end of the tree trunk sits a small turtle. The water is a bright blue, reflecting the clear skies above.

ok it's not a kingbird riding on an osprey that's holding a fish, but it does have three separate animals in it 😅

A great blue heron sits among a bed of fuchsia and green colored plants.

Went to a nearby wildlife refuge this morning and there wasn't a lot going on, but just outside the refuge I came across this heron sitting among these fuchsia colored flowering plants that I thought was neat.

In this case, most of the shoreline had already been closed until the fall, but they closed the entire reservoir due to construction on the facilities there.

My photos were taken from just the other side of the fence of the closed area.

I recently learned the place I've been photographing the avocets is closed for the remainder of the year, and the recent eggs hadn't hatched yet so I missed my chance to get photos of the little ones.
