When Capital Pride in Ottawa put out an anti-Israel statement last year, the City of Ottawa, provincial and federal Liberal parties, the mayor and several hospitals all withdrew from participating.
We'll see what the response is in Montreal now that a group was actually banned.

I'll tell you it takes a lot for him to shock me nowadays. This is pretty shocking. This is up there with McCain wasn't a war hero and publicly siding with Putin in Helsinki over his own intelligence services.
Smith: Dramatic improvement.
Ford: Best meeting in 10 years.
Moe: Encouraged.
Legault: We've never talked so much about the economy with a PM.
Holt: United like never before.
Carney's team post-premiers meeting:
Solid dragged performance by Francis Scarpaleggia, as he’s elected PSpeaker.
Scheer giving a solid push and Carney with one of biggest grins I’ve ever seen. Only thing missing is “NO NO” facial expressions.
Not near my Top 5 though:
-Milliken (twice)
-Jerome
-Scheer
-no.1 Geoff Regan’s Oscar 🎭
And then spontaneously, Nate just came up, embraced them and gave a prayer before singing Hatikvah.
In a week of dubious reporting, the horrific murder of Sarah and Yaron and anxiety over Toronto's upcoming Walk With Israel, it's a moment to cling to and draw inspiration from.
They spoke of being regular parents, Hersh's herosim, how hope is mandatory, of being proudly Jewish, freeing the rest of the hostages and never losing our humanity in recognizing the suffering of all people. If you need an example, they're it.

This is Nate Leipciger, a Holocaust survivor, hugging Rachel Goldberg-Polin and Jon Polin in Toronto, who came via Wednesday to talk about their beloved Hersh who was killed in Hamas captivity.

Man some post-election takes... Some of them put together would look like:
"PC premiers not helping led the Conservatives to lose, combined with Elections Canada being fishy and now Carney will put NDP in cabinet and jail/deport content creators he doesn't like."
“Look at the girth of this thing.”

The actual Nova site has turned into a pilgrimage.
Here, you get a window into the reality of the worst terror in the world. It’s not activism, nor a referendum on whatever political leanings you may have.
So go with your Jewish friends and peers. For your and their sake.

For Jews, it's a demoralizing, but inspiring, personal and communal catharsis. But for the non-Jews who accompany them, it’s an invaluable look into their condition. For a moment, it takes your hands off the smartphones and onto the grounds.
23.04.2025 14:24 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Hamas simply stumbled upon it. The open field under a blue sky became a killing spree. Its nature are what made the protests in New York City when the exhibit came there so unconscionable. And yet if they happen here, no one will be surprised.

The sound is what stuck out to me the most, followed by the portable toilets with bullet holes and the wall of remembrance. Terror you can touch.
The Nova attack was so devastating because it wasn't a military post, it wasn't a city centre, it wasn't even an original target.
On the exhibit itself, this is not the kind of memorial that creates space, at first at least. There's no glass wall. When you walk in the main door, the sound overwhelms you. It's meant to put you there. To give you the slighest semblance of what it was like that day.

For Jews: Ready Yourself ... and bring a non-Jewish friend.
For non-Jews: You'll likely gain more than you think.
