Eglinton Crosstown Delays - A Disappointing Milestone
It's frustrating to learn that the opening of the Eglinton Crosstown LRT has now been delayed for a period longer than it took the TTC to build the initial stretch of the Yonge subway. YouTuber "notsmoothsteve" does the math. #toronto #ttc youtu.be/4CRAZhEacvA?...

Job action averted at Ontario Colleges. Both sides agree to binding arbitration, which means there will be no disruption to classes. https://www.newswire.ca/news-releases/strike-averted-at-ontario-colleges-860526701.html

I finally caught 'The Master Plan' by @healey.bsky.social (which has just been extended at Soulpepper theatre in #Toronto). It's a brilliantly funny satire that cleverly explores the intersection of big tech, urban planning, and municipal politics. Highly recommend it!

I love this story of a real-life Charlie Brown Christmas tree controversy: the lights are out in the town of Collingwood while they re-string the tree.

I wanted to see if Siri was any better in iOS 18.2, so I summoned it and asked βSurely it wonβt rain today.β
βNo it wonβt,β Siri replied. βAnd donβt call me Shirley.β
Thatβs when I realized I left my iPhone in Airplane mode.

Starbucks baristas strike on βRed Cup Dayβ over schedules, staffing
The stoppage by Starbucks workers is expected to be larger than last yearβs strike on the same day, but amounts to about 2 percent of the coffee giantβs 9,000 cafes nationwide.
Thousands of baristas at more than 200 Starbucks locations walked off the job Thursday, in hopes of shutting down stores, to protest the coffee giantβs bargaining practices over scheduling and staffing.
The coordinated work stoppage coincides with one of the coffee giantβs biggest sales events.
