If Minecraft would make actual game modes where they keep the current game as 'classic' mode, but then you can create an 'adventure' world and have what you suggest, or a 'survival' world where survival setups are cranked to 11, then they could balance each of these without alienating anyone.

It's just that community has expectations that are too broad, so they cannot rework anything without alienating parts of it. Most they can do is add, but there are too many systems for it to stay cohesive.

Your suggestions sound good, but it's too drastic to add to the main game.

There are many directions they could take Minecraft, but that would require a vision and a clear goal that they never had (neither did Notch).

They tried dungeon crawling with Minecraft Dungeons, they tried explorable instances with that Craftmine april fools setup this year, so there is potential.

Seriously? Two financial supergiants pressure a tiny game selling site to do something none of us agree with, and you blame the site?

I know the corpos are winning on all fronts, but we can live free and fight on by not being stupid.

It's easier to shift the blame to smaller creators/groups that cannot defend against overwhelming pressure, and now itch has become that smaller, easier target that they feel they can 'defeat'.

Nobody wants to tangle with the real issue (payment processors usually) since it's not an 'easy win'.

The whole reason this mess is going on is because there are people out there that go for the 'easy wins' that will let them get the foot in the door. Getting rid of adult content has been an 'easy win' for years in a lot of social spaces whenever someone wants to show they have the moral high ground
