First Christmas with the boys is... going well 🙃

The difference felt the biggest for the first like 5 weeks, but it still helps a tremendous amount everyday.

Negative side effects for me would be it definitely interferes with sleep even if I take it pretty early, and it tends to increase latent anxiety. But benefits FAR outweigh that for me

Finally the other biggest perk is that the ability to focus thoughts on something or do a mentally taxing task (or really any task) takes a fraction of effort.

If you had to hold up a wall, medicine would be a big metal brace on the wall. Your arms will still be tired, but it'll be a way easier job

Medicine doesn't make me LIKE doing the dishes but it lets me tolerate it. I remember calling it "an absence of psychic pain" when describing it the first time 🤣

This was the wildest to me, the biggest peek into what "non-lazy" (see: neurotypical) people experience. The ability to "just do it"

I once read someone describe being unable to do something like being told to put your hand onto a stovetop that you KNOW is still really hot; sure I literally CAN do it, but my brain will try everything it can to stop me.

Stuf like washing dishes isn't a hot stove but my brain sure acts like it

I could actually CHOOSE to switch activities. Like if I pick up my phone and start scrolling, I enjoy it for 10 minutes, and then I WANT to stop, I WANT to start my day, but I'm stuck. Medicine like dissolves the glue and blinders.

It also helps being able to DO things in general

My mind felt... quiet. Like, thoughts weren't competing much anymore, I could basically do traffic control if that makes sense? Like they could be put in and orderly line or directed to exit the queue. That fact alone helps lessen anxiety so much.

I was diagnosed a few yrs ago and medication literally changed my life. Not to hype it too much since it's different for everyone, but if you can, I would definitely try it.

I take Adderall IR and several things were starkly apparent:
