By the way, I’m sorry to the people who followed me for the illustrations. I have many of them sketched or written down, but I’m just not feeling it at the moment. This pixel art project, on the other hand, has been really fun!

I’ve been using this height chart (from Toei?) as a reference for the overworld sprites. I totally forgot how small Yugi was at the start of the manga. He was so fucking adorable 😭

Dark Yugi, Kaiba, and pre–Death-T Kaiba are done! I honestly couldn’t be happy drawing only one of Kaiba’s outfits. He’s too stylish for me to choose just one.

Guess I got spoiled when it comes to drawing hands on overworld sprites. I ended up drawing basically the same thing for the Mathemagic project months ago and now again for the Yu-Gi-Oh project. I don’t think it’s a big issue rn, but I should figure out other ways to draw them in this "chibi style".

I guess I started the TJ route yesterday! TBH, I'm kind of confused by how you "choose routes", since it happens during a FIGHT. It seems this will be an anti-VN, like DDLC was.
I'm not really interested in any character, but the whole thing about the dead friend made me really curious about TJ.

Finally getting to practice with Aseprite. I've been thinking about spriting face shots and front idle animations for some Yu-Gi-Oh characters. I see a lot of potential here, and hopefully this project will help me fully familiarize myself with the program.
