In short, many other platforms(especially X/Twitter) limit your reach and exposure when you post external links.

So you want to dictate Bluesky censorship based on YOUR standards? If restricting non-consensual/Rape fantasies is somehow going to hurt everyone, then why won't restricting pedophilia and bestiality hurt everyone as well? It starts with that, but where will it end?

I know his history very well. It's part of the reason I used the avatar. Depictions of rape, pedophilia, and bestiality have been regulated, both legally and morally, for a very long time. I don't see how art has suffered as a result of that. The Slippery Slope runs both ways.

They even made it clear that the guidelines are for the Bluesky community, NOT the AT Protocol. That means that they, unlike most other platforms, give you a chance to take that "I don't care" attitude to another app where they also Don't Care.

You don't get to play pretend on someone's platform when they've explicitly told you what is off-limits. If you were really concerned with saving some time, you'd find a platform that's okay with rape fantasies, pedophilia, and depictions of you banging your neighbor's golden retriever.

The same wording is in place for pedophilia and bestiality. Are you arguing for those to be allowed too?

I probably hate the payment processor puritans more than you or anyone else commenting here. But platforms that actually allow sexual content, and only stipulate that Non-Consent is forbidden, aren't the enemy. If more clarification is needed, then suggest it.

You can't get consent from fictional characters. That's why "fictional depictions" appear in the "We allow..." portion. *Non-Consenual* Sexual content is only applicable when a party CAN refuse consent, including attempts to circumvent with "synthetic, simulated, illustrated, or animated versions."

At this point, I'm not even sure you know what you're arguing for or against. It seems like a reflexive rant based on a Slippery Slope you've created. You can't be talking about purely Fictional depictions because there's no consent to be given other than the creator.

They've made it abundantly clear the guidelines are for Bluesky, NOT the AT Protocol. If your "vibe" doesn't align with their guidelines, then you have the option of moving your stuff to another app running on the protocol, or build your own niche community. At least they do give you that option.

That section is clearly defined as being Consensual vs Non-Consensual sexual content. What exactly does "non-consensual" keep you from doing? Context is what matters. Why would you be mentioning it, and are you promoting it? You guys are sliding down a Slippery Slope you've created.
