This flew under the radar, but it shouldn’t have.

When senator Alex Padilla was tackled by DHS, Kristi Noem’s side piece, Corey Lewandowski, was orchestrating the situation in the hall.

Can I ask where you found some? I’m hoping your answer is Northeast.

Just some fan art and a project to see what I could do with a lot of personal reference photos. It’s also the most likenesses I’ve ever done. If I could do it again, I’d make it twice as big. Working with little heads and trying to capture the likeness at that size was a challenge. A lot of nuance by using little brushes was needed.

Framed and varnished. Or maybe the other way around. Either way - done.

I love the color choices in your Snake/Kurt painting. Carries the mood really well.

Had our Valentine meal at The Nook at the bar. We had a Lucy and a Reuben and it was good but we were surprised with a little box of 2 chocolates from Regina’s Fine Chocolates. A nice touch.

On Nov. 16, a mental health counselor recorded in Kamilla’s medical records that her mother reported the girl had lost her appetite after being “served food that contained worms.” A week later, the couple said, children were told to gather in the gym for what they believed would be a Thanksgiving celebration. Excitement spread as families saw tables set with turkey, sandwiches, pastries and pies, they said. The children waited expectantly. But when a parent asked when the celebration would begin, Oksana said, staff told them the holiday meal was for employees, not detainees. The children, she said, watched despondently as the feast was packed away.

On Thanksgiving, the immigrant children held at the Dilley detention center gathered in the gym for what they thought was a holiday feast.

The kids salivated over a spread of turkey, sandwiches, pastries and pies, a family told me.

But the food wasn’t for detainees — it was for the staff.

Somewhere There’s a Tortoise Training 11x14oil painting on Ampersand gesso panel L to R A chipmunk chews on a carrot while hiding in a brown bag of carrots. In the middle, a hare wearing an orange headband pedals on a stationary bicycle. On the right a rather large chipmunk pulls a gym bag w/a red water bottle toward the bike. 4 of these animal paintings done. The goal is 12 but we’ll see. As with most everything I paint, I’m fortunate to be able to try things a bit outside the comfort zone. A purely imaginative piece where I have to mentally pose the reference as opposed to just follow is always equal parts fun and frustration.

One step more to finish - paint white on the white background. Why? To clean up the redraw sections and that’s just a matter of layering & patience
