An old, weathered, fallen log is seen along its length from a low angle perspective, a ragged edge in the foreground. A kite—averaged-sized and of the traditional diamond-shaped variety—is seen caught atop the far upper branches of a tree lacking any leaves, set against a virtually cloudless blue sky. The shot is artfully framed so that the tree barely occupies the bottom left quadrant of the image. The sky is largely monochromatic blue with slightly darker corners from natural vignetting from the lens (the photograph was taken with a Micro 4/3 camera.) There are very faint wisps of clouds without well-defined edges in the upper right of the shot.

A landscape photograph depicting a series of foothills extending into a haze-shrouded horizon. Centered in the foreground is a silhouette of the top of a pine tree though, unlike the many other visible smaller pine tree outlines, this one lacks the distinctive stereotypical triangular shape. Instead it tapers irregularly until ending somewhat abruptly just as it meets one of the most distant visible foothill peaks. The sky is mostly an indistinct mass of gray clouds, though one small window of blueness is seen up to the right and vaguely connects to a single, brightly backlit aperture where originates a series of crepuscular rays, as if an old, very large incandescent flashlight is being shone down from the heavens.
A mood indistinct. The outlook is perhaps unclear though not unpleasant for the moment.

A linear cloud formation that originates above a near-distant foothill peak and continues up and left out of the corner of the frame. The cloud has a smooth right edge and an uneven left edge. The peak only just rises above the continuous line of distant hills, and is centered horizontally while the silhouetted hills are aligned along the lower third of the image. Patches of snow are visible on the hillsides. The sky is otherwise cloudless and has a gradient of blue hues from very light along the hills to a very deep and dark at the top of the photo.
