both of these districts were planned and built in the last 20 years.

one has a ton of social housing. one has very little.

one has open space. one has very little.

the building heights? also similar... 6-10 stories.

While there is a clear reality that the organized left is drifting towards impotency in NY, this is not an inevitability. And this isn't reflected in many polls on the popularity of specific issues. This is an organizing challenge, frankly.

But things are going to be much worse than 2016.

Whatever political response we have from a Trump administration, if the Dems maintain that the country is largely ok, and only needs small changes or reforms, the left will lose ground the far right and endanger all of our futures.

Yesterday I saw two things. One, people flaunting their ability to ignore or isolate themselves from current events, and two, people convinced they had all the ideas and wanted to create some new org or thing to fix everything. History has shown that both impulses have clear drawbacks.
