Arsenal will underestimate us today. Their players, however much they’re warned, will just be thinking of the side that rolled over at their place.
Into em from the start and they won’t know what’s hit them #lufc

That 44% still don’t think it was wrong to leave the EU tells you exactly why we should never have had a referendum. Most people haven’t got a fucking clue

I don’t disagree with any of that, but it shouldn’t be unlimited, to everyone and anyone, to do any subject

πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘ yes, everything free for all and total individual freedoms, that wonderful utopia that exists nowhere

Of course they would say that…

Of course this is a possible outcome, if someone has a degree in almost anything, it shows a good level of academic skills. My experience is that isn’t even half the battle when dealing with people…shows can put good reports together mind

Could just go back packing for that 🀣

Yeah, I still think the bottom 3 go down, but if West Ham do pull it off, they’d be my favourites to go down

My daughter goes on about Uni being a great life experience for future life, but tbh I’ve never seen anything she’s done or said that ever made me think she was ahead of where I was at 22 having built up working with people experience, in fact the opposite

Just said, if Mateta goes then I’m fine with losing out on him, he’ll want out if they go down

Tbh if it Palace losing Mateta is the reason we lose out on him I’ll be delighted. They are in deep shit

2/
They’ve still not caught up to where I was at their ages and they’re 31 & 34. So much for Uni!!

Does education for 19-21 year olds automatically enhance society?
By the age my kids left Uni, I was running a department, it’d taken me 5 years to get to that point, they were in their mid twenties by the time they had equivalent salaries 1/

I’d suspect almost all go with that in mind, unfortunately it’s not reality

It appears that if you’re happy to fund education through taxes as long as the education helps society as well as the individual, you’re a right winger but if you think all education should be paid for and that the individual can choose whatever they want to do, you’re some how left wing??

I never said I was rich! I was being flippant to a nonsense question

We don’t allow people at School and 6th form to choose *any* subject they’d like to study and ignore all others? We’ve got ourselves into a situation where young people are getting themselves in debt without realising what they’re doing. It doesn’t help them never mind anyone else

30.01.2026 09:05 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Not one that was acquired through university but that’s not my point

I never said it was only beneficial if it leads to a job, it could be beneficial to the individuals even if it’s a waste of time in their career or life..but I’d rather not pay for that thanks

30.01.2026 08:59 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

If you think that kind of education is learnt at Uni’s, I’ve got a bridge I can sell you

30.01.2026 08:58 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Indeed, I’ve been trying to avoid my own circumstances because it’s not relevant to the argument, but it’s on similar lines

30.01.2026 08:57 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

The absolutely key point I’m making is that yes, people who will benefit from a degree should have that education funded. Taking a degree in forensics at what was a polytechnic, when only a few get jobs from the top Uni’s, with the top degrees, every year….is a waste to everyone involved

30.01.2026 08:54 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

We’re not on X mate. You’ve completely missed my point, as I’d expect

30.01.2026 08:50 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

What’s my occupation got to do with anything?

30.01.2026 08:49 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

They can choose what they want, just don’t ask me to pay for it if it’s a waste of money

30.01.2026 07:38 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

I’m not suggesting going to Uni is in any way a negative thing but unless that degree helped you get a specific job (which it probably did), then I don’t see why I should pay for it?
