6. Beware of false attacks
Bondi is an election denier. Patel has an enemies list. Trump has promised retribution. When a Trump foe is under investigation, be skeptical. When you read leaks against pro-democracy leaders, consider that it may be part of an effort to discredit their work.
Everything’s building up to the question of whether the Democrats will provide any votes for funding the government in March. And given that they can’t trust the bureaucracy to follow through (that is, follow the law) on any deal they strike, it’s hard to see how they rationally could.
