The pain of having your special interest be something that only happens for two weeks every two years

Olympics special interest hitting hard, roll on Friday (or tomorrow for Curling I guess, since I’ll watch every drop that can possibly be fed to me)

In the next few days, I will absolutely enjoy being with family and friends, but I haven’t been able to get excited for these until they’re right about to happen. The month leading up to these big days has felt like a drag, I suppose is what I’m trying to say

It’s been a rough year.

I just want it to pass

But this year it’s just come at a really bad time for me, it’s basically just come as one big roadblock. I’m raring to go various aspects of life, job, etc, and instead, as they do at this time of year, things are winding down. It’s had a really bad impact on my motivation and mood

I think for the first time this year, I realised that Christmas as an adult is what you make of it.

I tried to get into the festive spirit, bought all my physical gifts with time to spare, was ready to decorate, etc.

Somebody wake me up once Christmas stops feeling like an obstacle to everything and I can get on with my life
